The medals awarded at the European Junior Olympiad in Informatics (EJOI) 2024 embody symbols of creativity and unity.
Inspired by the letter „O” in the „EJOI” logo, the medal features a rhombus shape that symbolizes stability and balance, giving it a distinctive and contemporary aesthetic. The perfect rhombus of the design signifies unity and cohesion of spirit, highlighting the competition’s core values of prestige, excellence, and innovation.
The edges of the rhombus are outlined by four colors, which, when overlapping at the corners, form four additional chromatic shades, adding dynamism and visual energy to the design. At the center, a stylized flower in the shape of a heart is positioned. This graphic element „Small country, big heart” highlights the hospitality and warmth of the Moldovan people. The flower, featuring a green stem and red petals, is a symbol of Moldova, commonly seen on clothing and interior decorations. It signifies the country’s natural beauty and its generous, welcoming spirit. The medal’s color scheme nearly replicates the spectrum of the Moldovan carpet, a cherished emblem of home, family, and national identity.
